À travers une discussion et un atelier, Dismantling Your Électroniques encourage les participant-e-s à faire le lien entre les objets numériques du quotidien et les minéraux qui les composent. En partant de l’installation de réalité augmentée de Lou Fozin, les participant·es seront invité·es à réfléchir à l’impact environnemental de leur vie numérique. À la manière d’un jeu d’échange, iels pourront mettre en scène les dynamiques géopolitiques liées à l’extraction de ressources et aux processus de fabrication d’un appareil électronique. Chacun·e sera amené·e à collaborer pour imaginer des façons alternatives de produire des outils numériques, plus respectueux des environnements et des gens qui les habitent.

Through a discussion and workshop, Dismantling Your Électroniques encourages participants to make the connection between everyday digital objects and the minerals that form them. Using an augmented reality installation by Lou Fozin, participants will be invited to reflect on the environmental impacts of their digital lives. In the form of an exchange game, they will be able to stage the geopolitical dynamics linked to the extraction of resources and the manufacturing processes of an electronic device. The participants will be led to collaborate in imagining alternative ways of producing digital tools that are more respectful of environments and the people who inhabit them.

Lou Fozin travaille et vit à Montréal. Puisant son inspiration de ses intérêts pour la psychologie et les sciences sociales, iel expériemente avec le son, le codage et la production 3D. Le travail de Fozin a été présenté à Montréal, au festival SOIR, à l'exposition de fin d'année Design and Computation Arts à Concordia, et à la galerie VAV. Iel a reçu un financement de l'Association des étudiants en beaux-arts de leur université pour le projet collaboratif Carrying Capacity 10 (2018) et pour le projet solo Dismantling Your Electronics (2019). Fozin a récemment obtenu un baccalauréat en beaux-arts avec une spécialisation en arts numériques de l'Université Concordia (Montréal).

Lou Fozin works and lives in Montreal. They draw inspiration from their interests in psychology and social sciences to experiment with sound, coding and 3D production. Fozin’s work has been shown in Montreal at at the festival SOIR, the Design and Computation Arts end-of-year show at Concordia, and the VAV Gallery. They received funding from the Fine Arts Student Association at their university for the collaborative project ‘Carrying Capacity 10’ (2018) and for the solo project ‘Dismantling Your Electronics’ (2019). Fozin recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Computation Arts from Concordia University (Montreal).
