DISRUPTING the DISRUPTORS Conference
Event Information
Description
The Disrupting the Disruptors conference is a chance to explore platform co-operatives. Platform co-operatives are an alternative to venture capital funded platforms because they are owned and governed by those who depend on them most—workers, users, or stakeholders.
Join us on Saturday, September 9 for an international conference featuring digital co-operative examples from Canada, the US, Europe, and New Zealand who are empowering freelancers, communities, and entrepreneurs to build a sustainable digital economy.
Disrupting the Disrupters video helps explain the problem and the opportunity. Please share it!
Can co-operative ownership solve the challenges we face from platform giants in the sharing economy?
What would an Uber owned by its drivers look like? Would a Twitter governed by its users make it more sustainable? Can freelancers use the co-op model to hack the gig economy and improve conditions?
