Diversity Spotlight Screening: Kayak to Klemtu

The film Kayak to Klemtu is the story of 14 year-old Ella, tasked with testifying at a community hearing in Klemtu on the matter of oil tanker passing through her territorial waters. Ella takes the 500-kilometer journey up the BC coast by kayak, as a way of fulfilling her uncle’s dying wish and to scatter his ashes through the ancestral land.

From 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. participants are invited to visit the exhibition Family Bonds and Belonging as preparation for this Diversity Spotlight Screening.
