Event description

Description

Jazz Manouche, or Gypsy Jazz, blends American big band swing with the exotic sounds of European Romany folksongs. Dating back in the 1930s, it was the creation of the legendary two-fingered guitarist Django Reinhardt.
Django Libre approaches this style with a modern sensibility, technique, and a love for this music. Their passionate improvisations and rhythms reward both listener and dancer alike. The band has performed for many years at the Ottawa Jazz Festival as well as various jazz venues in the Ottawa area.
