Description

Cold Hands, Warm Heart + Understanding Textiles

Over the course of these two hours, you will learn about the properties of different textiles, what they can be used for, and, learn a “hot” way to identify fabrics. We will share samples of fabric based up-cycling projects that we hope will inspire you to create your own projects at home!

To bring: if you have mystery fabric you would like to identify, bring it along, along with your own up-cycling experiments for some show-and tell.

Take home: before you go back into the cold, you will learn how to hand sew a heart- or square-shaped hand warmer made from flannel (or wool) and rice. No sewing experience required, all materials provided.

Note: Please arrive 5 minutes prior to 3:00 and plan to attend for the entire workshop. Homemade snacks and hot beverages will be served during the introductions. Don't forget to bring your reusable mug!

This workshop is brought to you by Works-in-Progress as part of the Building Roots Do It Together series and is FREE for all to attend - donations are welcome but not necessary.
