Description

Documentary & Discussion Series

The Documentary & Discussion Series seeks to normalize controversial or topical issues into everyday conversations, facilitate increased awareness, and encourage respectful exchange of perspectives. Each event involves an on-campus screening (open to the campus and Calgary community), followed by a reflective and interactive discussion among the audience about what they learned from the film. We aim to have 3-4 topic experts at each event to provide insight and guide our conversation. This series is hosted by the University of Calgary Graduate College with funding from the Graduate Students' Association.

Film

Through an intimate and artistic lens, Milk brings a universal perspective on the politics, commercialization and controversies surrounding birth and infant feeding over the canvas of stunningly beautiful visuals and poignant voices from around the globe. Inspiring, informative, provocative and sensitive, Milk celebrates bringing a new life into this world with a strong call to action and reflection.
