The Documentary Film International Symposium (DFIS) aims to facilitate a dialogue between Canadian documentary filmmakers and internationally renowned talents in a hybrid format. During this event, we aim to record several case studies on documentary films, presentations, and new developments and share the experience and how-tos of modern documentary filmmaking. Moreover, the DFIS contributes to our organization’s overarching goal to promote and co-create a cultural vision by blending the two cultures of Canadian and Chinese media artists and filmmakers; It will open up new dialogues, giving platforms to diverse filmmakers that comprise the Canadian cinema community.
