In “Doing the Work: Anti-oppression, Allyship & Meaningful Inclusion in Action”, this popular workshop explores the value of equity in our interpersonal and institutional relationships, and gives us hands-on tools to deconstruct oppressive power dynamics and rebuild them in comprehensive and authentic ways.

This workshop delivers multidimensional strategies for building equity and meaningful inclusion at the interpersonal and institutional level. Through its application of subjugated knowledges and organizing models, this session fosters critical thinking about anti-oppression allyship.This workshop is designed for individuals/organizations looking to address inequities at the systemic level, in their team dynamics, and/or in their work.

Participants should have a strong working knowledge of anti-oppression before engaging with this workshop. Suitable prerequisites include: Anti-Oppression 101; Anti-Oppression 102; Anti-Oppression for Artists & Cultural Producers; and Contemporary Arts Institutions: Anti-Oppressive Practice, Meaningful Inclusion, and Allyship in Action.


This workshop has no prerequisites.

Please note this event takes place in a scent free environment.


ACCESSIBILITY

The building has barrierfree access, automated buttons operate the main entrance, and an elevator provides access to the classroom on the third floor of the building.

VISITOR PARKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Paid underground parking is available for visitors of the Toronto Birth Centre next door, behind the Paintbox Condominiums (225 Sackville Street).

From Dundas Street, turn south on Sackville and look for the P sign. It is a pay and display system, so please pay for the amount of time you think you will need and leave your receipt in the windshield.

Parking is $1.50/ half-hour or $5/day (2-8 hours).

If you expect to stay longer than 8 hours, you will need to pay for another parking permit shortly before your 8 hours runs out.
