Community Exhibition Space - All Day in the Main Hall

Learn about the work local organizations and community groups in the Downtown Eastside are doing alongside the City of Vancouver to advance the goals and actions of the DTES Plan.

Community Exhibition Space - Main Hall

Background

Approved in 2014, the Downtown Eastside (DTES) Plan is a 30-year vision for the area which strives to ensure that the uniqueness of the Downtown Eastside is recognized, and endeavours to maintain the existing neighbourhood character, while revitalizing the area without displacing residents.

Together, various community groups, organizations, and City departments have been implementing the policies and actions of DTES Plan, which included direction for staff to monitor progress through regular meetings with the community.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the Plan, this event will provide opportunities to:

  • Find out what has been achieved, ongoing, and to be done since the DTES Plan was completed in 2014.
  • Engage with City staff to discuss priorities for DTES Grant Program funding for the next five years.
  • Network and check out local organizations, such as artists, social enterprises, and non-profits, and their achievements in the DTES.
