Downtown Photo Walk

Explore Downtown with your camera and meet fellow photographers in the area!

Practice your photography in a fun group setting! We will walk around Calgary's Downtown neighbourhood to practice photography as a group. It's a good opportunity to try out street, architecture, portrait, abstract, and other types of photography.

Meet up location is inside Alcove Centre for the Arts. We'll walk around taking photos for around 1.5-2 hours then head to a cafe afterwards to share our photos and hang out. Complimentary refreshments will be provided at the cafe!

The Downtown Photo Walks are hosted monthly and sponsored by the Calgary Downtown Association (@downtowncalgary) and the Downtown Core Neighbourhood Association (@downtowncoreca).

All levels are welcome and mobile phone cameras are perfectly fine if you don't own a DSLR or mirrorless camera.

Why go on a Group Photo Walk?

• Practice your skills in photography and observation in a collaborative environment.
• Meet other photographers in your area.
• See how other photographers see and shoot. Learn from each other!
• Feel more safe and comfortable while wandering around with your camera.
• Good exercise and a fun way to explore the city!

Please dress for the weather and be on time. We will depart from the meetup location 10 minutes after the start time.
