DRAGONS ABREAST 20th ANNIVERSARY GALA
Fri, 8 September 2017, 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM EDT
Dragons Abreast roars into her 20s with a Gala Celebration!
For 20 years Dragons Abreast has provided a dragon boat program for women and men in and around Toronto with a history of breast cancer. We are a diverse community, welcoming members of all ages, fitness levels and paddling experience. We paddle together for fitness, for friendship, for support.
Every September Dragons Abreast hosts breast cancer survivor teams from across Canada and the US at the 2-day Great White North Dragon Boat Challenge, our home regatta, as we vie for the prestigious Breast Cancer Championship Cup. This year, we invite all paddlers and supporters to help us launch the GWN weekend, and usher in our third decade. Join us at the fabulous Palais Royale, Toronto's premier Grand Ballroom overlooking beautiful Lake Ontario, as we honour those who came before us, and welcome those who continue the battle with us into the future.
The evening will include:
- Cocktail hour
- Delicious 'Taste of Toronto' stationed menu, inspired by the wonderful ethnicity that Toronto has to offer
- Cash bar
- Door prizes, raffles and surprises
- Dancing to the sounds of the Roaring 20's featuring premier electro swing artists Tia Brazda Band & DJ Medicineman
Dress to impress - the theme of the evening is the Roaring 20s, so don your best glad rags and spats, and come as your favourite flapper or flyboy!
Parking is free, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
Tickets are transferrable - No refunds.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
