Event description
The Drive Shaft Trio is featured in a thrilling program of virtuosic chamber music for piano & two violins.

About this Event

The Drive Shaft Trio, an exciting combination of three emerging chamber musicians, will offer a virtuosic program of modernist music written for piano and two violins. Works by 20th Century masters Bohuslav Martinů, Darius Milhaud and Dmitri Shostakovich will be featured. Added to this mix will be gorgeous music by Kingston’s John Burge written in tribute to Nobel Prize laureate and SNOLAB researcher Dr. Art McDonald and his wife Janet, both keen music lovers and supporters. Plus we will have the thrilling world premiere of Northern Debut Nord’s first newly-commissioned work – a trio by Sudbury-based composer and Laurentian music professor, Robert Lemay.
