DRUM IS CALLING FESTIVAL SPEAKERS SERIES

STORYWAVES: REMEMBERING OUR SACRED RESPONSIBILITIES

A multimedia tribute to our generous Mother Earth

Presented in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation

This inspiring evening of strong voices celebrates the important, nurturing work of Indigenous leaders, mothers, weavers and warriors who remember our obligations to take care of the land, air and water. See rich visuals from the Salish Sea region and stunning footage of gifted Musqueam artist Debra Sparrow weaving her blanket. Hear songs, poetry, and Chief Dan George’s iconic Lament for Confederation. Chief Dan George's daughter, Tsleil-Waututh Elder Amy George (aka Ta'ah), Charlene Aleck and other members of the George family, Debra Sparrow, Senaqwila Wyss, Jónína Kirton and Christie Lee Charles will uplift and empower with a call to action to stop environmental destruction and ensure a good future for all our relations.

Presented in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation Curated and emceed by Kamala Todd.
