Story Summary

Heroes of Harldbrook: Chapter 2 "Of Heroes and Dragons"

With the assassination attempt on the queen's life foiled, the Kingdom of Albanwold has been made safe by the courageous actions of the six students of the House of Harldbrook. A quest has been granted by Her Majesty Queen Lorenna to honour the alliance between Albanwold and the ancient gold dragon, Feronous The Many-Titled. As newly appointed "Heroes of the Realm" these students, in the company of the dragon, will venture beyond the kingdom's borders into the barren wastes of The Ashe Divide in search of a sacred item. The Scepter of Ruling, an object of great power, was believed to have been destroyed in the War of the Six Lords.

Word has now spread of its discovery and the legend that surrounds it. Whichever ruler shall wield the Scepter by right or might will have complete dominion over the land, from sea to mountain peak. However, the Queen of Albanwold is not the only one who wishes to lay claim to the Scepter and its powers. Guided by a powerful presence that remains unseen, dark forces are at work to insure that the quest will fail and the shining kingdom's rule will come to a bitter end.
