Outstanding Durham Regional chefs come together under one roof showcasing their signature soups, delectable desserts and fresh breads for sampling to raise awareness and funds to fight hunger in the Durham Region.
The concept of Empty Bowls is used worldwide to recognize and raise support to fight hunger by emphasizing that many people simply do not have enough to eat. The unique one-of-a-kind handcrafted bowls signify the thousands of empty bowls in our communities and are gifted to attendees as a take away and a reminder of those less fortunate.
The 3rd annual Durham's Empty Bowls is an important fundraising event that will help support children, youth, seniors and families across the Durham Region. The Region is home to over 40,000 people who face hunger daily. Many of these people (38% of whom are children) depend upon emergency food providers.
100% of the proceeds will go towards helping us fill the bowls of thousands of Durham residents in need.
