Event description

Description

The Diasporasian Writer Talkeratives are back this summer with a three-part writing series called "Palm-of-the-Hand", named after Yasunari Kawabata's label for his short prose.

We'll be working on a micro collection of between 3-5 poems or flash fiction over the three weeks in this breakdown:

June 5th (Week 1): Concept framing - deciding on parameters, structure and themes
June 12th (Week 2): Scene construction - drafting and exploring narrative detail through prompts
June 19th (Week 3): Editing down - necessity, integrity and well-built sentences

Each workshop will host a total of 6 participants and 1 facilitator. Tickets for all three workshops are available for sale. You are, however, more than welcome to select just one workshop to attend.

For the price of the ticket, you will receive a free coffee/tea drink order of your choice at our partner cafe!
The rest of ticket sales goes directly to supporting P40's programming and the publication costs of our magazine, LooseLeaf!

Please direct all inquiries to talkeratives@p40collective.ca
