About this event
This concert, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, will take place at the stunning VanDusen Botanical Garden. Travel with the choir as they perform works from around the world featuring composers Sarah Hopkins (Australia), Andrew Balfour (Canada), Tõnu Kõrvits (Estonia) and Fidel G. Calalang Jr. (Philippines). This concert will also feature two world premieres: a new work by Canadian composer Katerina Gimon, commissioned by Phoenix Chamber Choir, and the winning composition of Timothy Cunningham, our winner of the inaugural Phoenix Student Choral Composition Competition.
Phoenix is proud to partner with local artist Corrinne Wolcoski for this event. Corrinne will be painting live during the concert, and her completed work will be available for purchase after the show, with all proceeds going towards the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
