Description

FACT: There are over 1 million Australians currently living with an eating disorder. Eating disorders have an alarmingly high mortality and suicide risk.

Come and hear true stories from those with a lived experience of an eating disorder and their families, hear about the latest research findings and treatment options and learn from our panel of experts as to how we can help recognise, understand and cure this deadly disease.

The Panel

  • Christine Morgan, CEO, The Butterfly Foundation
  • Dr Sarah Maguire, Director, Centre for Eating and Dieting Disorders (CEDD)
  • Anne Tonner, mother of ex anorexia sufferer and author of Cold Vein
  • Olivia Patrick, clinical psychologist and director of Shape Your Mind, eating disorder treatment clinic
  • Dr Cecilia Bergh, CEO Mandometer, a specialist eating disorder clinic
  • Professor Phillipa Hay, Chair of Mental Health Unit, University of Western Sydney
  • Per Sodersten, Professor of Applied Neuroendocrinology at the Karolinksa Institute in Stockholm, Sweden
