Event description

Description

Engaging learners and making learning more flexible has been a goal for 21st century educators; however, large classes, learner motivation, and content delivery that challenges ever diminishing attention spans often challenges instructors in achieving these goals. There are a number of emerging digital solutions that can address some of these challenges. McMaster has integrated ECHO 360, a lecture capture system, in 24 classrooms across the campus. The system records audio and display content and makes it available to students for viewing in a digital format. This system can provide students greater flexibility and access to review course content or to supplement materials covered in class.

This ½ day event to learn more about the ECHO 360 system, its capabilities, and to hear from faculty about their experience using this tool in their classes. We have invited Prof. Perry Samson (University of Michigan) to speak about his experience and research in this area as well as a group of McMaster faculty to share why and how they use the tool in their classes.

Lunch will be provided.
