ECS - Experimental Embossing with Loredana Zega

Description
This exciting weekend workshop runs from 10 - 4 pm September 14 and 15. You will learn how to create beautiful "raised" letters using a variety of embossing techniques, colours and materials, including metal leaf. Loredana will discuss colour matching, design composition and related rules and guidelines, and will experiment with different textures in combination with embossing. She writes, "I was always fascinated about embossing. The letters which are rising up from the paper are just gorgeous!.............It will be a joy to see your works!

Supply list for students:
Gouaches - 2 different colours
Some Acrylic inks
Masking fluid
A mixing brush – not good ones
ruler - 20 inch
two cardboards of the block of paper (A4 or A3)
Some soft colored pencil – white, bronze or gold
Some card board paper (at least 250 – 300 gsm) for cutting models, and a cutting mat
(can use the one from the old cardboard folders)
a cutting mat (can be small A4)
And some calligraphy pens that you would like to work with (but larger sizes), for example: Automatics, 2 pencils stick together, balsa wood…
GOLD LEAF (not real gold) AND GLUE
x-acto knife (with at least 1 more blade – new)
Needles for embossing (one or two) medium sizes
PAPER
One or two papers for final piece – approx. A3 format
For example, Black velvet or White Arches is marvellous… or Rosaspina fabriano or Fabriano artistico, or what you already own.
