Event description

Description

The folded ruling pen is a contemporary calligraphy tool used to make a variety of strokes, from controlled
to wildly gestural . Having some previous lettering experience under your belt, such as Italic is an asset as we interpret those letter forms with the folded pen. It's a unique tool with tons of versatility and possibilities.

Your price also includes the correct ruling pen required by the instructor and ink used during the workshop. The doors are open at 9:30 each morning and our class ends at 4 PM. Out of courtesy to the instructor we expect you to remain in class until that time.

Other Supplies Needed:

Pen White or bleedproof white is fun to work with, and Ecoline watercolours are also an option, but not necessary.

We will go through a lot of paper so find some with a little tooth that doesn't bleed, and some that is smooth even a little glossy, also a few coloured papers medium to dark/black. (Crayola Marker Pads are inexpensive and work well.) Large 'layout' pads of white paper will be available for purchase at the workshop for $10 each, CASH ONLY.

Bring a small water container and old toothbrush for cleaning your pen, as well as some paper towels or an old cloth.

Lunch

We normally bring our lunch and take a half-hour break to eat together in the lunch area outside the room. A fridge and microwave are available for your use.
