ED_ucate : Eating Disorders Panel & Discussion
Event Information
About this event
Many of us have a first degree connection to eating disorders/disordered eating- either we ourselves have struggled, or someone close to us has.
As part of Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) 2020, the Eating Disorder Support Network of Alberta (EDSNA) is collaborating with those throughout the Edmonton community to discuss one of the questions EDSNA hears most: "How do I help?"
By bringing together those with lived experience, caregivers, working professionals, and researchers, this panel & facilitated discussion will serve as an opportunity to learn more about this complex, and multifaceted aspect of mental health.
A brave woman with lived experience will also be sharing her journey, and an amazing parent team will be talking about how caregivers can support their loved ones in recovery.
Other topics covered will include:
- The role of healthcare professionals in treatment and recovery
- Exciting new research + projects
- Media literacy
- How to get involved!
Whether you are finishing your post-secondary education, currently working in the field of mental health, or simply passionate about helping to support others, there will be something in this panel for you!
