Brenda Malkinson has sustained a dedicated teaching and studio practice for over forty years. She has been awarded significant architectural glass commissions and her glass and woodblock prints are in many public and privatecollections. Recent juried exhibitions include Chicago Printmakers’ 3rd Annual International Print Exhibition; Stewart Hall, Pointe-Claire, Quebec; International Print Exhibition, Canada and Japan; Christies, NY; International Print Centre, NY; The Surface of Things: Chasing Light, ACC Discovery Gallery, solo exhibition.

Malkinson makes vitrified glass and woodblock prints. She builds her works by firing numerous applications of enamels on glass and prints layers of inks on paper creating a fusion of colour, light, and transparency. Malkinson’s concepts derive from sketches of historical and natural elements. The resulting works embody fragments of memory juxtaposed with representational and non-representational forms. Malkinson is a recipient of the 2013 Edmonton Artists Trust Fund Award and the 2018 ACAD Alumni Legacy Award.
