Description
Canada's 2019 Federal Election has already proved historic. In an effort to combat political apathy and increase engagement, the Oliver Community League and Global Shapers Edmonton have organized a federal election forum on October 10th from 5:45 to 9:30 PM for Edmonton Centre candidates. This forum is run in partnership with the Downtown Edmonton Community League, Queen Mary Park Community League and the Downtown Business Association. This event is free for all to attend. All registered candidates in the Edmonton Centre electoral district were invited. In attendance will be:
James Cumming - Conservative Pary of Canada
Randy Boissonnault - Liberal Party of Canada
Katherine Swampy - Canada's New Democratic Party (NDP)
Paul Hookham - People's Party of Canada
Peggy Morton - Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada
Grad Murray - Green Party of Canada
The schedule can be found below:
5:45-6:30 PM - Doors open. Political party and partner organization tabling and networking.
6:30-7:00 PM - Forum begins at 6:30 PM sharp. Half an hour of questions from the partner organizations.
7:00 PM - Public, open mic questions.
All organizations involved in hosting this forum are strictly non-partisan. This forum has been organized as an opportunity for citizens to engage with their candidates and educate their vote. All registered candidates were given equal opportunity to participate and none of the partner organizations endorses or favours any party or candidate in any way.
