Event description

The purpose of the engagement is to listen to survivors to gain a deeper understanding of their diverse, lived experiences and empower survivors through a respectful and inclusive engagement process that will lead to help inform a meaningful government apology for the Sixties Scoop.

Enabling survivors to help shape how our government apologizes for the tragic history and the subsequent impacts of the Sixties Scoop will create a truly meaningful apology and promote healing. Only survivors and their families can truly know how the Sixties Scoop affected their lives. We need survivors and their families to be involved in this process for us to better understand how the Sixties Scoop affected lives, and to offer a meaningful government apology.

We encourage all survivors, their families and community members to attend and welcome attendees from First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Non-Status communities.
