Description

DESCRIPTION

The Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) Ontario Network is hosting a FREE one-day Aquatic Invasive Species (plants, invertebrates, and fish) in Providence Bay on Manitoulin Island. This event is geared toward Manitoulin Island and surrounding area residents, professionals, and others who wish to improve their identification skills and become better stewards in their community.

At this workshop we bring together invasive species experts and indiviudals managing invasive species in Ontario to present information on how to identify, manage and report a variety of aquatic species.

Participants will have the opportunity to network with environmental professionals and peers from other institutions, studying similar issues, and share experiences gained from working on a range of invasive species found in Ontario.

Admission, lunch and refreshments will be provided at no cost!

THIS EVENT WILL.....

  • Help you to learn and familiarize yourself with invasive species that are present and threatening the Manitoulin Island area in Ontario (identification, biology and impacts)

  • Cover current invasive species in Manitoulin

  • Provide an opportunity to network with and learn from other stewards and intersted indiivudals
