We are in a state of emergency as Ontario's third wave has gotten truly out of control. Why is this happening? Why are our schools still unsafe? Why do we still have no paid sick days despite overwhelming public support? Why is our vaccine rollout so slow and filled with uncertainties? Is this part of a Conservative agenda to push for austerity and increased privatization? What can parents, teachers, and families do to fight back?

Rev. Dr. Cheri DiNovo CM is currently the minister at Trinity-St. Paul's United Church and formerly the MPP for Parkdale-High Park from 2006–2018. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and is the author of The Queer Evangelist: A Socialist Clergy’s Radically Honest Tale.

Marit Stiles is the MPP for Davenport. She is the Education Critic for Ontario’s Official Opposition and is passionate about strengthening our community schools. Marit served as a trustee for the Toronto District School Board from 2014–2018, was the president of the federal NDP from 2016–1018, and was the national director of public policy research and communications for ACTRA.
