Event description

Description

Educational Leadership for the Innovation Economy is a one-day workshop to help leaders in the education sector guide their institutions into the innovation economy.

After a sold-out workshop in February, we're offering a second date in March.

This workshop includes hands-on activities, team tasks and large-group discussions, and is open to all educators (faculty, administrators, board members) in K-12 and post-secondary education.

Why attend?

The education sector is experiencing the effects as technological innovation drives unprecedented change in how people learn, teach and work. Educators need to enhance their skills to thrive and lead their institutions effectively during this complex time. In addition to the discipline-specific and technical skills expected of them, educators must be leaders who adapt quickly and innovate. This workshop will introduce you to the concepts, mindsets and strategies you need to stay ahead of the disruption curve.

What will participants learn?

Whether you spend your days in the classroom, an administrative office or a boardroom, you know that your job as an educational leader requires agility, forward-thinking and the ability to lead through ambiguity. This workshop curriculum has been developed by MaRS to provide the most up-to-date thinking and research on how educators can prepare for the future of work and learning. Our goal is to ensure that you leave the workshop with the capacity to:

  • identify the internal and external systemic influences that affect your institution
  • explore areas for improvement and determine those that can be implemented
  • incorporate diversity, inclusion and belonging into your everyday work
  • address complex problems through innovation and creative thinking

Fee: $125 per person + Eventbrite fee (includes lunch)

Additional details regarding location and logistics will be sent to registrants before each workshop. Maximum 40 participants per workshop.
