Effective Communication for Social Change
Event Information
Description
The good work done by too many NGOs is simply not known outside their client base. This effects fundraising, recruitment of volunteers and the impact of your campaigns. The Institute for Change Leaders is offering a customized workshop to show you how to improve your ability to communicate effectively with key audiences and the abundance of vehicles available to you to accomplish your communication goals.
You will be shown how to craft your stories to move your supporters and your community to action.
We will help you refine your messages, improve your individual skills in presenting them and strategies to improve your profile and effectiveness.
The institute has recruited one of Canada’s veteran media relations and presentation trainers for these workshops.
Patrick Gossage will lead this training alongside Distinguished Visiting Professor Olivia Chow.
The course will include presentations, mock sessions, critiques and coaching.
Gossage knows the NGO world through over ten years of working with the Toronto social service agency Dixon Hall. He was Pierre Trudeau’s Press Secretary and served in Washington directing PR in the US for Canada. He founded Media Profile, a successful PR agency in 1985.
