About this event

Culture writer Elamin Abdelmahmoud appears in conversation on stage and in-person at Toronto Reference Library's Appel Salon space, to discuss his new memoir, Son of Elsewhere. In conversation with journalist Sarah Hagi.

From one of the most beloved media personalities of his generation comes a one-of-a-kind reflection on Blackness, faith, language, pop culture, and the challenges and rewards of finding your way in the world. With the perfect balance of relatable humour and intellectual ferocity, Son of Elsewhere confronts what we know about ourselves, and most important, what we're still learning.

Q&A and book signing to follow. Books available for purchase.

Note: This is an in-person event at the Appel Salon, Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge Street). This event will not be live streamed but the replay will be made available to watch on TPL’s YouTube channel.
