Electricity – Displacing Fossil Fuels in Other Sectors

In 2017 the government will be launching its Climate Change Action Plan and its 2017 Long Term Energy Plan. Paul will talk about the intersection of energy and climate change.
The presentation discusses both electric cars (transportation sector) and heat pumps for space heating (building sector). It covers:
•Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions from Ontario’s Electricity Sector
•Electricity versus Natural Gas for Home Heating
•Electricity versus Gasoline for Transportation
•Ontario’s Surplus Carbon-Free Electricity
•Potential for Fossil Fuel Displacement by Electricity in Other Sectors
•Energy Policy Implications
