Event description
Come together to cook and enjoy a four-course vegetarian or plant-based meal, while connecting with other SFU students.

About this Event

Community Kitchens are a low-barrier gathering space where SFU students come together to cook and enjoy a four-course vegetarian or plant-based meal over a three-hour period. Join us for the first Community Kitchen for the fall semester, at the Women's Centre September 19th. Read below on this month’s facilitator.

We’re excited to introduce our facilitator for September's Community Kitchen, Meyyammai Palanippan. Mey was born and raised in Tamil Nadu, India but now lives here, in Canada, with her husband, and two kids. Despite bachelor's degree in Accounting, her passion is for reading Tamil books and cooking. There is nothing that sparks her creativity in the same way like cooking and experimenting with recipes. She’s a living artist in the kitchen, making her spices and masalas fresh at home. Though Mey is vegetarian, she doesn’t budge from exploring how to build any new recipes. Expect an experience full of colour!
