Event description
In this intro workshop, you'll write poetry about your relationship to uncertainty. This workshop includes a breath practice.

About this event

This class is a free intro to Embodied Poetry, an 8-week mindful writing workshop, which I speak more on below.

In this free workshop, we'll be exploring the theme of uncertainty. We'll do this a few different ways...

  • The Breathexperience practice will help you to let go of fighting for inspiration, and allow you to approach the blank page with a strong connection to yourself.
  • The freewriting practice will illuminate personal imagery related to uncertainty and guide you to express those moments with creativity and nuance.
  • The poetry writing practice is your opportunity to engage with your own creativity and mindfully explore how you write a poem -- inviting curiosity about all the internal chatter you meet as you write.

We will conclude with a conversation about uncertainty. You are invited to participate or simply listen. For those who are inspired, you're also welcome to share your poem.

No experience with poetry writing is necessary to participate. This is an invitation to engage with 'your' writing practice. Whether you've never written poetry before or are an experienced writer with a strong relationship to your craft, my intention is to provide enticing entrances into writing that shake up your relationship to creativity.
