About this event
Guest Speaker Jessica DiSabatino
Jesica is a voice in both business environments and the Church. Following the death of her younger brother, Jess and her dad founded My Safe Work, a philanthropic initiative to bring justice to workplaces in Canada and around the world. For this work Jess received the Governor General's award in 2017, the highest honour a Canadian citizen can receive.
Jess has pastored for more than twenty years, and currently serves as a pastor at Church in the Hills, in Calgary, AB. When not playing with her husband and four children, she is busy resurrecting her 1980's rap career.
Breakout Session: You Are Not Alone: Andy Gabruch
This talk is about the reality followers of Jesus have; an intimate, unique, and transformational relationship with the Holy Spirit for everyday life. We will discuss the person, purpose, and power of the Holy Spirit for your life as a university student who desires to make Jesus known in every day life.
Andy Gabruch has been in ministry for over 17 years in urban, suburban, and rural contexts. He has worked with high school assemblies, city-wide youth forums, local church and national leadership boards, and speaks on culture, leadership, and ministry. He is currently the Next Generation Director for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada in British Columbia and the Yukon Network. He has a Masters Degree in Leadership and Management and his heart is to raise the next generation of Church. He partners with his wife in ministry, Annick, and has four children, Isabelle, Joseph, Benjamin, and Samuel. They like cats.

The 21st century is full of conveniences and we are increasingly tempted to live for ourselves, but is this a life worth living for? This hub will confront ideals that degrade people and unpack Jesus’ answer that the good life is found in community.
Andy created and hosted the award winning video series The Human Project in partnership with Power to Change. In 2018 The Human Project debuted at film festivals around the globe and won a number of awards including People’s Choice and Best Short Film. Andy also created and hosted the Thinking Series and is the author of Thinking? Answering Life’s Five Biggest Questions. Andy speaks internationally at universities, conferences, churches, prisons and coffee shops. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Andy lives in Abbotsford, BC with his wife, Nancy, and their two boys.
