About this Event

Please take a minute to read all of the below information. All Events will take place on various Virtual Platforms hosted by our partners. All Events are open only to Toronto Residents and our surrounding communities

Please select either October 26th or 30th when registering as either date will allow you to register for all employment events of interest during the week long initiative.

This is our registration platform for our Virtual Job Fairs only. We also will be hosting a number of employment support sessions held on Oct 20-22nd that will lead into all of our events held between Oct 26th - 30th.

Once you are registered via this Eventbrite link, we ask that you go to www.toronto.ca/employmentconnections to view and select a variety of workshops and information sessions that may interest you and further connect you to employment opportunities.

When registering on this Eventbrite link, you will be asked to select the specific virtual job fairs you are interested in and you will receive additional updates for the specific events you select as well as an email from the virtual job fair platform provider (Showfloor), asking you to set up your profile so they are able to send you a link for each job fair you want to attend. The Employment Connections network is building it's 7th Annual week of events to support Toronto Job Seekers that reside in neighbourhoods that have been impacted by violence, currently on probation or parole, have a criminal record or identify as having a conflict with the law. 100's of opportunities every year with a focus on Full-time and career roles. Part-time and seasonal opportunities also available and many training opportunities that will lead into full-time employment. This event is for all jobseekers from entry level to experienced.

All of the employers that are attending our events are aware that job seekers identify as one or more of the above populations and they are actively recruiting for their employment opportunities or employment training programs.

All Job Seekers 18+ that identify as one or more of the above populations are welcome to attend our virtual events held from October 26th - 30th as well as our pre-employment support events held on October 20th-22nd Please log into www.toronto.ca/employmentconnections to find more information and to register for over 20 additional events.

October 27th: Entrepreneurship Focused Sessions - Multiple sessions throughout the day October 29th: TTC Information Session - Upcoming opportunities

Hiring Events: Virtual Job Fairs on the Showfloor Platform (Please select events of interest here and you will be connected via email with details on each event, a demo of the platform and contacts for additional supports should you require, you will also receive a follow up email with all participating employers & training programs as well as an email from Showfloor asking you to build your profile so they can send you an individual event link)

Meet Your Community Agency - (Oct 26th, 1-4pm) - Meet the Employment Connections Partner Agencies and learn more about their employment opportunites, programs and additional supports. This session will also give users the opportunity to use the same virtual platform that our three Virtual Job Fairs will be held on. Labour Focus Day - (Oct 28th, 1-4pm) - Multiple Employers and Training Programs with a focus on trades, apprenticeships, labour, automotive, customer service, building management and more Multiple Sector Day - (Oct 29th, 1-4pm)- Focus on a range of opportunities across Toronto... LiUNA Local 506 - (Oct 30th, 1-3pm) - Multiple training and hiring opportunities

Employment Connections is a partnership between the Ministry of the Solicitor General (SOLGEN), seventeen Toronto Employment Agencies from the Youth Employment Partnerships (YEP) Network and the City of Toronto. Although Employment Connections focuses on supporting youth on probation and parole with yearlong employment service help, the network also builds employment pathways and annual Job Fairs that is focus on all community affected by violence and job seekers 18+ that identify as being in conflict with the law.

There will be multiple employers, programs and opportunities throughout the Justice Week and multiple support services to help job seekers of all ages prepare for events and to stay connected and updated. A list of Employers will be sent out to all registrants by October 16th and you are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one employment support session available starting October 20th.

Community Partners are also asked during registration for their email to ensure everyone receives up-to-date event information. This will further allow partners to stay connected with job seeker(s) when information is released. If you have a policy that does not allow you to share your email with your supported job seeker, we ask that you register yourself separately.

Registration Process:

All Employment Support Sessions and Information sessions will have an individual registration process (via phone, email or online). A complete list with dates, times, descriptions and registration process can be found at: www.toronto.ca/employmentconnections (copy and paste into your browser)

Attn: Supporting Partners that are registering clients on their behalf, if you are unable to share your email with your supported job seeker, please use our TYPE Youth Justice Counsellor Michael.Darling@toronto.ca / Please follow up with Michael & your job seeker letting them know. Michael will connect with your job seeker to follow up with additional support when requested

NOTE: This is event is only open to residents of Toronto and surrounding municipalities that identify as one or more of the above populations. When registering, please ensure you enter the correct email, phone number and contact to a support worker. As all of our events are virtual, should there be a technology issue, we want to ensure you are still connected to our employers and support teams.

JOB SEEKERS: Please ensure you check your junk mail filters as well ensure your voice mail is open and professional as employers may be connecting for follow up interviews and/or next steps in their employment process.

No registrants from outside of the Greater Toronto Area will be accepted into our events.
