Event Information
Description
Do you have a child between the ages of 6 and 12 years?
Do you wonder if they are happy at school or if they are they ready for high school? Do you worry about their sleep habits or if they are getting enough of nutrition? Questions which many parents have and who want to know how to support the health and well-being of their children during their crucial middle years of development.
Researchers at UBC’s Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP), through the Middle Years Development Instrument, have collected responses from thousands of children in Grade 4 and Grade 7 about their thoughts, feelings and experiences in school and in the community.
Come and listen to what children have to tell us, learn about the 5 key areas of development that are strongly linked to children’s well-being, health and academic achievement and set goals for yourself on how you can support your children through their middle childhood.
