Welcome to our Enable Accessibility Gala Eventbrite Page!
The event is a celebration of accessibility and the limitless potential of people with disabilities and their families. This gala aims to create awareness of the social enterprise Enable, our great work, and how we promote social inclusion for people of all abilities.
We are excited to host this event at Festival Hall in Inglewood. Emceed by Lori Gibbs and entertainment from Dubasov Dance Studio dancers, the latest research from a University of Calgary researcher in the Faculty of Community Rehabilitation/Disability Studies, and a mother of a child with a disability will share her experience with disability.
The event will be catered featuring beer from Toolshed Brewing Company and cupcakes from Baked From The Heart. We would love it if you could come out and support us!
Enable is a social enterprise that matches people with disabilities to support workers based on shared interests and scheduling needs.
We are currently working on moving the service online to reach a larger number of people. Until October 18, we are launching an Alberta BoostR campaign through ATB Financial. We are crowdfunding $10 000 towards our website development and other start-up costs.
In partnership with the Sinneave Family Foundation and the University of Calgary, we are creating training modules for current and prospective support workers to better care for and support people with disabilities. You can learn more about Enable through our website or social media pages.
