Learn to paint with encaustic with award winning artist Tracey-Mae Chambers

This three-day workshop in my outdoor encaustic studio, under a pergola of wisteria is the perfect opportunity to take three days for yourself. Let’s focus on your work. This three-day workshop is open to artists of all levels. No prior experience is needed! For more experienced encaustic painters, this will be an opportunity to enhance your work with a variety of new techniques. Individual instruction and creative, proactive criticism which will help you move your encaustic painting to a new level by refreshing and refining your skills.
We cover safe practices, grounds and substrates, fusing with torch, or heat gun, transparency, glazing, building texture, smooth surfaces, layering, mark making, small pours, collage, stencils, image transfers and more! Discussions include developing the work's content and finding your unique voice with the medium. Setting up your encaustic studio, tips for working on large, shipping tips, and care of encaustic works.

All of your supplies are included as well as a vegetarian lunch and wine each day. Snacks and coffee/tea to keep our creativity are also provided all day. Your tuition covers all supplies including papers, wooden substrates, adhesives, encaustic medium, oil paint, assorted metal leaf, oil pigments, assorted graphite media, Sennelier pastels, India ink, alcohol inks, shellac, found items etc !
