Encounter Weekend 2016
When is the last time you had a significant encounter with God?
Maybe you feel that you've never actually encountered or heard from God before?
Wherever you find yourself, we dare you to slow down and give a weekend to intentionally listening, responding and encountering the God who is with us. We are made for very good encounters, and that is what God is all about. This weekend is a space and place to pursue the goodness of encounter with community and to with the compassionate Creator God who can transform, heal and re-create us. We will learn, explore, and practice some ancient ways by which the church has listened to, heard and encountered God:
- Listening Prayer
- Group Spiritual Direction
- Sabbath Rest
We will live the weekend together in community, enjoying the goodness of shared meals, playing in nature/canoeing and kayaking on the ocean, with space to meet some new folks. There will also be space for study for those who will need it. Bonus: We will be joined in the weekend by our mainland IVCF brothers and sisters from UBC and SFU. So, come encounter goodness together!
Location: Pioneer Pacific Camp, Thetis Island. The camp is located in a beautiful and scenic bay on Thetis island and is a picturesque place to enjoy west coast goodness. IVCF is connected with Pioneer Camps across the country, but we think we have the most beautiful location:)
