Event description

Description

A modern city is a smart city but how do you design smart cities using the latest innovations in design and an appreciation for the needs of residents and visitors? How do we work together on that goal in a way the benefits governments, universities and local businesses?

The September 2018 Engage Talk will answer those questions. Special guest Srini Srinivasan, President of the World Design Organization, will visit Fredericton from Silicon Valley in California to provide an indepth and interactive presentation on how cities and towns in Atlantic Canada can incorporate smart design in the future look of their communities learning from best practice examples from around the world. Mr. Srinivasan has more than 25 years of professional experience in industrial design, creative design, user experience design and company formation around the world where he has worked with major corporations like GE and a variety of governments.

This networking event will also feature a panel profiling current smart community activity underway such as the Fredericton Smart Cities Challenge proposal and the Smart Grid Innovation Network.

The event is presented by Digital Fredericton and Ignite Fredericton. Thank you also to RPC, Planet Hatch, Knowledge Park and the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation for sponsoring.

The $15 ticket price helps cover food costs. Guests will enjoy wine, beer and food.
