A yoga experience to engage your smell, taste, touch, hearing and sight.

About this Event

The idea of bliss is usually described through our senses - the smells, tastes, touches, etc... and they're the things that stay with us throughout our lives. (Insert your favourite childhood memory of that bread/cookie/dish your grandma made, or the way your partner looked at you from across the room that one night, or the sound of the clock in your parent's house). We cherish our senses and delight in them - and this event will allow you to do just that.

Join us for an engaging workshop where you will have the opportunity to:

  • heighten your yoga practice through the engagement of your senses
  • learn about the science of the senses, how they affect your body, and how to use them to your advantage
  • experience opportunities to engage your senses while being guided through a hatha and restorative flow - this includes a decadent treat and essential oils

Outline of the workshop:

  • Hatha flow heightened with smell, taste, touch, sound, and sight
  • Short talk on the nervous system and how our senses stimulate the brain and how to use them to your advantage
  • Discussion to explore what you discovered
  • Closing restorative flow while engaging our hearing in a crystal bowl sound bath

Skill level: open to all levels, no prior experience required - just a willingness to explore!

The details:

  • Location: Rasa Flow Yoga - Water Studio - 161 1st St E, North Vancouver, BC V7L 1B2
  • Date: Saturday July 20th
  • Time: 6-8pm
  • Included: essential oils for you to smell, a decadent snack to consume (will be vegan + gluten free), sound bath to lavish in
  • What to bring: bring your own mat or borrow one of ours. If you have a favourite eye mask then feel free to bring it - although it's not required. Other things you might enjoy: a notebook if you like taking notes, and water in case you get thirsty.
  • What to wear: something you feel comfortable doing yoga in.
  • Parking: 2 hr free street parking and a paid parking lot on 1st Street East

Meet your teacher:

A yoga and meditation teacher, Amanda has been practicing for 14 years and teaching for the last 3 years. She's certified in hatha and restorative yoga. Originally from Toronto, Amanda moved to Vancouver in fall 2018 because of the forest and active lifestyle. She is also a strategic business consultant who specializes in creating positive social change. Part of her business includes creating experiences to increase wellbeing; she believes the more supported we are, the larger the impact we can have.
