The City of Waterloo presents...
EngHack is Waterloo's engineering hackathon! Held every term by the Engineering Society, EngHack is targeted toward engineering students with all levels of experience. Whether you're a vetran major league hacker, or you've never even heard the word "hackathon" before, we'd love you to come out and spend 26 hours with us. Your programming ability doesn't matter, only your willingness to have a great time!
In 2017, we're making EngHack bigger and better than ever before. The City of Waterloo is helping us present the event this year, providing significant funding for us to make this the best EngHack yet. EngHack is FREE this year, thanks to our sponsors. Come for the weekend, make something great, and meet fantastic people and sponsors. We also have Toast (a Boston-based tech company), Digiflare (a Toronto-based media tech company, who has recently merged with Accedo), Infusion (a consulting tech company with offices around the world), and Magnet Forensics (a local Waterloo tech company). MORE SPONSORS TBA!
There will be a pre-event mixer for new hackers or people without a team. This is a great opportunity to meet people and start generating ideas. We will be hosting tutorials on various topics to inspire and assist with your ideas, as well as "creative breaks" to refresh your mind.
Teams must be 1 to 4 people, and teams do not have to have 1 UW engineering student on them. (in previous years, this was a requirement).
ENGHACK IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS. There is no cost for this event. You will be charged $5.00 upon sign-up, but that amount will be refunded upon attendance.
The event will run from 1:30pm on Saturday, February 4th until 3:30pm on Sunday, February 5th. There will be 21 hours of hacking. You don't have to worry about food, we've got that covered! Join us and our sponsors in 3 weeks for the highlight of your term.
