Event description

Description

The Etobicoke Chapter of PEO is proud to once again present Engineering Idol, our annual competition promoting engineering to high school students in the region.

This year's challenge asks the students to design an Autonomous Vehicle, a car that can run without an operator to go through a series of tasks and levels. The challenge was issued thirteen high schools from across the GTA in December. You will find our competitors facing off, while working together.

The challenge will be to demonstrate that each vehicle can achieve several levels of autonomy and avoid barriers and other cars to complete a track course. For the last few months, student groups have developed their designs and will present them before the judges on Saturday, March 2, 2019.

Come out to this National Engineering Month event, support aspiring engineers in our community, and see the impressive designs from each high school team.

  • The event will run from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Public viewing: 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Presentations and Award: 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM
