Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) is pleased to invite you to the 8th Annual Business Leaders Breakfast to hear and discuss various issues facing local business leaders with respect to the hiring, integrating and retaining immigrant and refugee professionals.


This year’s keynote presentation: “Building a Welcoming Organizational Culture for Professional Newcomers” – Guest Speaker: Dr. Rachael Pettigrew, Mount Royal University.

Co-sponsored by the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Business Diversity Network, this annual breakfast and workshop is for those business leaders, top HR professionals and managers, who are looking for an opportunity to network and build relationships with their peers and share perspectives with leading professionals.

This year’s breakfast speaker is Dr. Rachael Pettigrew, an Assistant Professor at Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. She holds a PhD from the University of Manitoba. Rachael’s research focus is organizational policies and culture surrounding employees’ management of work and life responsibilities, with specific focus on both gender and diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She has managed several large research projects on newcomer settlement and employment sponsored by Immigration Research West and funded by IRCC.
