ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND GLITCH ART SHOW Call to Artists Open until December 31, 2019

Sometimes when things go wrong they go very, very right. All of us encounter endless visual effects of data corruption in software, lens based photography, games, automated systems and phones. The Error: File Not Found Glitch Art show runs with the idea that although glitches are understood to be errors, Glitch photography is a new medium and an aesthetic approach that challenges the way we perceive visual information and the notion of creation through destruction.
This group show features the work of Vancouver glitch artist, Dizz McGruber, as well as other international artists, all who are responsible for the glitch art showing up in music videos, film trailers, logos, music, textiles, drawing and paintings around the world. Check out art that has been created through non-native image processing, generative or general glitch processes and challenges the notion that this type of work is created through a simple destructive process.
Work includes hard-copied objects, videos, net art and installations. Each artist will provide information about the processes that they have used and show how erratic digital faults and interruptions are formed into a wave of creative interpretations and fine art.

Sunday Art Salon 1:00-3:00pm Hear from 100 Braid St resident glitch artist, Dizz McGruber and two of the international artist participating in the show about what it is like to belong to an international peer group of artists and options for getting connected to this world. Each artist will speak about how they were introduce and came to be involved with this form of art, the individual processes that each of them uses, and the opportunities and doors that have opene for them to create a living from their work.
A cash bar will be available on Friday night.

By Car: The studios are conveniently located just off of Hwy 1 on Braid St between Rousseau and Brunette. Parking is available in the front of the building and additional parking is available in the back of the building.
By Skytrain: Expo Line Production Way-University: Braid St Station 100 Braid St Studios is about a three minute walk across the street from the Braid St Skytrain station. The station is the major interchange with skytrain for many Coquitlam and New Westminster bus routes.
By Bus: Many Coquitlam and New Westminster bus routes meet at the Braid Station interchange and then it’s just a short walk to the Studios.
