Description
Join us for a fun and informative workshop on espalier fruit trees. "Espalier"is a term to describe the practice of pruning fruit trees to lay flat against a wall, fence, or trellis. It is a fantastic way to grow a fruit tree if you have limited space in an urban backyard or balcony.
In this workshop you will learn why espalier works so well, where it is best used, and the basics of creating and maintaining your own espalier fruit trees. Half the class will be lecture style inside with lots of opportunities to ask questions, and the other half will be outside exploring examples of espalier fruit trees in a near by community garden.
