Description

Prior knowledge of evaluation or social science research methods, is NOT required; this course is geared towards individuals who are new to evaluation.

On completion, participants to this four-day course will be equipped to enter and participate in the evaluation field and to develop as evaluation professionals. Graduates will be able to describe in basic terms 28 core evaluation concepts – from the uses and benefits of evaluation through common data collection methods to evaluation ethics and standards – and will gain elementary experience in six core practices – from creating logic models to writing findings statements.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m and the course starts promptly at 9 a.m.

Dates and content for the series in REGINA are:

September 29, 2017: Foundations of Evaluation, Evaluation Objectives and Roles, Describing the Program, Real World Challenges

October 23, 2017: Evaluation Questions, Standards and Ethics, Evaluation Indicators, Common Research Methods

November 16, 2017: Common Research Methods (continued from previous session), Research Questions, Evaluation as a Profession

December 13, 2017: Data Collection, Management and Analysis, Project Management, Synthesizing Evidence and Communicating Evaluation Findings, Models and Special Topics in Evaluation.

The Essential Skills Series was completely re-designed in 2014 to incorporate state-of-the-art thinking about evaluation and delivered using adult learning principles.

Lunch is provided and parking is free at the United Way Regina.

Cancellation, Substitution and Refund Policy

If the registrar receives a cancellation by mail, e-mail or fax by September 15, 2017, the registrant will be refunded the full amount of the registration fee paid. If the registrar receives a cancellation by mail, e-mail or fax between September 16 to 25, 2017 the registrant will be refunded a paid registration fee less a $25.00 or 25% of fee (whichever is less) cancellation charge. If the registration fee is unpaid, the registrant shall be responsible for the appropriate cancellation fee. If the registrar receives a cancellation by mail, e-mail or fax after September 25, 2017, NO refunds will be given and the registrant shall be responsible for the full amount of the registration fee. Substitutions may be made at any time until the event. Substitutions of a non-member for a member will result in additional non-member fees being charged.

Advance Registration is required and substitutions are allowed. If we cancel an event for any reason, our liability is limited to the registration fee only. To cancel your registration or to designate a substitute delegate, please contact our Admin Assistant at cessask.aa@gmail.com.
