Eight-week (8) program for families and caregivers learning DBT and EFT-focussed skills to better connect and understand their loved ones.

About this Event

This program equips families and caregivers of individuals that struggle with mental health challenges and very big feelings, by teaching skills, providing information and support to fuel connection with their loved one, as well as learn amongst others who are going through similar situations.

What is the goal of our learning?

These skills are intended to provide participants with a better understanding of their loved one as well as themselves, while helping participants be present without judgement, particularly when interacting with their loved one.

What do we learn?

Participants learn a healthy way to interact with their loved one when they are emotionally dysregulated and will be assisted in understanding what it means to set healthy boundaries, including why it’s important for our own health. Finally, participants are offered the ability to learn why acceptance is critical and an understanding of how we get there. These skills are based on EFT (Emotion-Focused Therapy) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), providing a common language to those loved ones who may have participated in DBT. These skills are proven to change lives and allow families to maintain a healthy relationship with their loved ones struggling with their mental health.
