Event description

We meet our small group at the whimsical dog fountain in Berczy Park, a short walk from Union Station or King Station. Guests get a feel for the Old Town area, it's early history, and learn the stories behind the dog fountain, park, and buildings along the way.

Absolute magic next as we guide guests through over 200 years of history and food at the world famous St. Lawrence Market, where we will eat some of the foods that put it on the map! Guests get to choose their own lunch, from some world class cuisines on offer inside one of the finest markets on Earth. Options include Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Canadian oysters, Montreal style bagels and more. Meet the vendors, learn the secrets and indulge!

From the Old Town of Toronto, skyscrapers suddenly crowd the streetscape and guests learn the lesser known facts about the inner workings of the Canadian economy and the skyscrapers in the Financial District. We venture down into the PATH system of underground tunnels buried below Toronto! Over 30km of tunnels labyrinth under the downtown core of the city!

We finish with a fully narrated water taxi/ferry journey to the Toronto Islands!

The Toronto Islands are a short water journey away from Toronto's harbourfront. A collection of 15 natural and man-made/assisted islands, including residential communities, a theme park, a petting zoo, sandy blue flag beaches, nature walks, a disc golf course, and most importantly the best views of the Toronto skyline!

A true and peaceful gem away from the hustle and bustle, and a perfect place to finish! Guests return back across on the ferry at their own leisure or together. Bring swimming and beach attire!

**PLEASE NOTE**-- The ferry ride and Island trip will be replaced with a visit to the Distillery District during times of very bad weather. This tour will go on in any weather if guests are present, but the ferry ride and Island visit will NOT go on in bad winter storms and poor visibility!

COVID19 UPDATE**** As of June the Toronto Islands are closed to non-residents. The ferries are scheduled to return soon. If the ferries are not active for ANY REASON other than weather, we will make appropriate alternative plans such as water taxi rides around the harbour and Toronto Islands, and/or a harbourfront tour.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are plenty of parking options around the Old Town Toronto and the St. Lawrence Market areas. Guides WILL BE ADVISED to start the tour after 15 MINUTES past the start time of the tour regardless of any issues, IF OTHER/ANY guests are on time and waiitng. It will be the responsibility of the guest(s), to catch up to the group if and when possible, and/or reschedule for another day. No partial or full refunds will be given for any late arrivals or no-call no-shows. Thank you for your understanding. We are kind and flexible in most cases!

What's the refund policy?

Full refund will be given with at least 24 hours cancellation. 50% refund under 24 hours notice to up to 2 hours prior to the start time of the tour.. FOOD IS SERVED ON THIS TOUR. Guests must make allergies known at the start and to the vendors when food is presented. We woulud also prefer to be told ahead of time about any food allergies. Guests are advised on items for lunch, given their history and such, however the final decision lies with the guests themselves. By agreeing to purchase this ticket/tour, you waive all responsibility on Experience Toronto Tours, and assume the risk of eating foods from licensed vendors inside the St. Lawrence Market. There are plenty options for anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions.

Final decisions are always with the guest.

The ferry ride to the Toronto Island is the responsibility of the City of Toronto, and is managed and operated as such, and is under Federal Canadian jurisdiction and oversight. You enter a public space using a transport vessel on your own free will, and all liability is thus on the City of Toronto and their public ferries and oversight.
