This two-day course is designed for all leaders looking to maximize productivity and increase the performance of your staff and/or volunteers. Participants will develop a leadership mindset to work through staff issues effectively and efficiently, while taking full advantage of opportunities.

Workshop Description

The agenda for this workshop is built around four key modules:

  1. Welcome to Leadership – It’s a Whole New Mindset - explore the fundamentals of leadership principles which form a foundation for the remaining modules.
  2. An Introduction to Situational Leadership - understand staff development levels and how to apply the appropriate leadership style.
  3. Performance Management - learn and practice techniques to reduce the time spent on staff performance issues as well as how to deal with performance issues when they arise.
  4. Change Management - learn about change management and what leaders need to do to support employees going through change.

 

Learning Objectives

Participants of this two-day workshop will gain the following learning objectives:

  • Understand the role and responsibility of being a leader in a not-for-profit organizations
  • Learn when to “do” and when to delegate
  • Understand Situational Leadership and how to apply the appropriate leadership style depending on the staff development level
  • Learn and practice techniques to reduce the time spent on staff performance issues as well as how to deal with performance issues when they arise
  • Understand the basics of change management including the critical skills of a change leader

For over 20 years, Cindy Epp of E.P.P Management Consulting has offered Manitoba organizations guidance and advice in:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Organizational Improvement
  • Change Management
  • Leadership Development

Cindy is passionate about collaborating with leaders to develop plans to achieve organizational visions as well as identify those issues that may be limiting success. With extensive experience in a variety of industries – including the not-for-profit sector, Cindy is able to ask the right questions to analyze options, facilitate decision-making, and strengthen leadership capacity.

In addition to providing consulting advice, Cindy has been a Board member for 3 not-for-profit organizations and understands the rewards and challenges of leading to make a difference.

Cindy has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). She has formal training in strategic planning and is Prosci certified in Change Management.

What's the cancellation policy?

United Way Winnipeg reserves the right to cancel any workshop at any time.

United Way Winnipeg will inform registrants via email of workshop cancellations at least 48 hours ahead of the workshop date.

Participants registered for a workshop or session cancelled by United Way Winnipeg will receive a full refund.

What's the refund policy?

To request a full refund, registrants must cancel up to one week (five business days) before the workshop date (or start date for a multi-day workshop).

No refunds will be issued to registrants who cancel within one week of the workshop date (or start date for a multi-day workshop).

Registrants who do not show up for a workshop will be responsible for the full workshop ticket price.
